WHAT IS SOMATIC THERAPY?

Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to healing that helps you tune into physical sensations, nervous system responses, and stored emotional experiences.

Instead of only talking about what’s happening, we also notice:

  • Where emotions show up in your body

  • Patterns of tension, shutdown, or overwhelm

  • How your nervous system responds to stress

From there, we gently work to:

  • Release stored stress and trauma

  • Build a sense of safety in your body

  • Create more ease, clarity, and regulation

This is where deeper, lasting change often begins.

Hello, I’m Laura!

Hey there, I'm Laura Grossman. I'm a therapist who proudly identifies as queer. My passion lies in helping individuals and couples navigate life's ups and downs, especially those who identify as LGBTQ+, but I work with all sorts of people looking to bring more happiness and confidence into their lives and relationships.

My practice is grounded in compassion, respect, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. I hold space for clients to navigate issues such as gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship dynamics, and self-acceptance. Through a collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I aim to empower my clients to cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful connections.

Our goal is empowering you – after all, you're the true expert on yourself and your aspirations. I believe in teamwork, commitment, and a safe space where we can all be open and genuine. Let's work hand in hand to embrace who you are now and who you're aiming to be, by traveling on a collaborative path towards a brighter, more fulfilled you.

WHAT SOMATIC THERAPY CAN HELP WITH

Somatic therapy is especially helpful if you’re experiencing:

  • Anxiety or chronic stress

  • Feeling stuck despite self-awareness

  • Emotional overwhelm or shutdown

  • Trauma or unresolved past experiences

  • Disconnection from your body or emotions

  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating

This work helps you feel more regulated, present, and in control—without forcing change.

WHAT SESSIONS FEEL LIKE

Therapy here isn’t just talking nonstop.

It might include:

  • Noticing subtle body sensations

  • Slowing down reactions in real time

  • Tracking emotional shifts as they happen

  • Learning how to regulate your nervous system

Many clients say:

“This feels different than any therapy I’ve tried before.”

Because it is.
